Looking for your next role in EdTech can feel messy.
You may be applying for jobs but getting little response. You may be moving from education into EdTech and unsure how to position your experience. Or you may know you need to improve your CV, LinkedIn or interview approach but not know where to start.
The RecruitHer Career Drop In is designed to help with exactly that.
It’s a practical, open session for education and EdTech professionals who want clear, useful feedback on their job search.
There’s no presentation to sit through.
You bring a question, a role you’re applying for, or part of your CV or LinkedIn profile, and we work through it together.
During the last session, we discussed questions such as:
• How much AI experience do EdTech employers now expect?
• Should you tailor your CV for every role?
• How do you show impact and results on your CV?
• How do you move from higher education into EdTech?
• What if your current job title doesn’t reflect the work you actually do?
• How should you position yourself when moving into a different type of role?
• What’s the difference between roles such as Customer Success and Account Management?
• How do you approach recorded video interviews?
• What can you do when you keep applying but aren’t getting interviews?
We also talked about networking, LinkedIn positioning and reaching out directly to companies rather than relying only on advertised vacancies.
One of the biggest problems I see is strong candidates struggling to explain clearly why they fit a role.
A hiring manager may receive hundreds of applications. Your CV needs to make the connection quickly.
During our previous session, we talked about tailoring your CV around the problem the employer needs you to solve, rather than listing everything you’ve ever done. We also discussed using numbers, percentages and outcomes to show the impact of your work.
We also looked at how applying too broadly can make your positioning weaker.
Customer Success, Account Management, Product, Sales and Project Management may share some skills, but employers are still looking for different evidence for each one. Understanding those differences can help you focus your search and present your experience more clearly.
The session is particularly useful if you are:
• Working in EdTech and looking for your next role
• Moving from teaching, higher education or another education role into EdTech
• Trying to work out which EdTech roles match your experience
• Applying for jobs but not getting enough interviews
• Preparing for an upcoming interview
• Unsure whether your CV or LinkedIn profile reflects the value you can bring
You don’t need to ask a question to join. You can also listen to other people’s questions and learn from the feedback.
Sometimes another person asks exactly the question you didn’t know you needed to ask.
Bring one thing you’d like to work through.
That could be a job description, a CV question, your LinkedIn positioning, an upcoming interview or a career move you’re trying to make sense of.
The aim is simple:
Come with a job search question. Leave with a clearer next step.
You can keep your camera off and ask questions anonymously if you prefer. Please remove personal information from anything you choose to share.
